With over 32 years of doing business, Jetta's corporate culture has developed a well-defined character, which has enabled the organization to thrive. Jetta's persistence in always holding to its principles is the key to the company distinguishing itself from others companies and staying at the forefront in the industry. This is not the easy way of doing business, but it is the way Jetta has chosen, and it is a way that has kept ahead on the road to success.

The following timeline shows the story of Jetta's corporate development, from its earliest stages to its most recent developments. The timeline illustrates the events and milestones that have led to the Jetta of today.



  Historical Timeline

1977 Jetta Company Limited was established in Hong Kong as a sub-contractor in the toy industry.
1978 Jetta started to provide ODM services.
1980 Jetta started taking OEM orders.
1982 Jetta begun manufacturing activities in China.
1983 Jetta started the first production base in Guangzhou, China with 25 China staff members.
1986 Jetta's size grew rapidly. 2000 workers were employed, with a total of 17 thousands square feet production floor space.
1990 Jetta's second production base was established in Guangzhou, China.
1994 Another production base was established in Guangzhou, China.
1995 Jetta achieved ISO 9001 : 1994 certification.
1996 Jetta started to produce IR control units for video and audio equipment.
1997 Jetta's fourth production base was established in Pan Yu, Guangzhou, China.
1998 Two more Jetta's production bases were accredited under ISO 9001 : 1994 Certification.
1999 Jetta's fifth production base was established in Shao Guan, Guang Dong, China.
2000 Another three production bases were awarded ISO 9001 : 1994 Certification.
All of its production bases were certified under ISO 9001 : 1994.
Jetta's Physical Laboratory has accepted as a HOKLAS Accredited Laboratory in April as it meets the requirement of ISO/IEC 17025 : 1999
2001 Jetta started to produce construction site audio entertainment product.
Jetta was awarded a corporate certificate of ISO 9001 : 1994 in February.
Jetta's Chemical Laboratory has been assessed and proved to be in compliance with CNAL/AC01:2002 Accreditation Criteria for Testing and Calibration Laboratories.
2002 Within a few years, business scale continued to grow rapidly in Jetta. Over 40,000 employees were employed at peak and total production area grew up to 2.5 million square feet. Jetta also started to manufacture robotic home cleaning equipment.
2003 All five production bases had successfully renewed their ISO 9001 qualifications from ISO 9001 : 1994 to ISO 9001 : 2000 Certification. (See Certification and Compliances)
2004 To assure that Jetta's occupational health and safety performance meets the highest standards, all Jetta manufacturing facilities were OHSAS 18001 : 1999 certified since 2004.
All Jetta manufacturing facilities has achieved and maintained ICTI CARE Process Confirmation Seal since early 2004, which is a benchmarking tool for assurance in Code of Conduct (COC) standard.
Jetta's Headquarter Office in Hong Kong SAR was conformed to ISO 14001 : 2004 Environmental Management System Standard in April, 2004.
Jetta (China) Industries Company Limited Phase II Construction Project commenced at Pan Yu district of Guangzhou.
2005 Two clean room facilities for electronic assembly were built in Jetta (China) Industries Company Limited, the production campus at Pan Yu Guangzhou. They began operation in July 2005.  The grading of those rooms are rated Class 1,000 and Class 10,000 respectively.
2006 Comprehensive RoHS system is in place to assure that our products, and our components, comply with the requirements of the European RoHS Directive, which came into force on July 1, 2006.
Jetta (China) Industries Company Limited Phase II Construction Project completed and began in use.  This new production facility solely provides 1.1 million square feet of production and warehouse floor area and holds up to approximately 20,000 employees. 
New Campus construction project began in Conghua district of Guangzhou. 
2007 Construction Project of our new campus in Conghua near completion.
2008 Jetta (Guangzhou) Company Limited production campus in Hei ban  Guangzhou relocated to our new campus in Conghua and began full operation.  The new campus is named "Jetta (Guangzhou) Industries Company Limited".  It provides more than 1.7 million square feet of production and  warehouse area and can hold up to 20,000 employees.
2009 Jetta has purchased the intellectual property rights alongside other assets at the Ugobe bankruptcy sale that occurred on May 21, and the company is committed to re-launching PLEO, the baby robot dinosaur, while continuing to offer accessories including the vital battery and charger components. Since 2007, Jetta is the original manufacturer to produce all of the parts for PLEO for Ugobe, and now Jetta hopes to make the PLEO a part of its portfolio.
